16 cooking teams – young novice cooks from the best restaurants in Poland will take part in this contest.
The competition dishes will be judged by two jury teams. The first one: TASTING JURY will consist of stage and screen stars, the second one: TECHNICAL JURY will comprise the biggest authorities of culinary art in Poland.
This year’s theme of the contest will be the fish – Norwegian brown trout. Each team taking part in the contest has to prepare a dish in the form of a main course for 10 people served solely on plates. The necessary ingredients to prepare it will include: „The Head Chef Fish” Norwegian brown trout fillet, cabbage (white, red or sour), groats (millet, pearl barley or buckwheat) and olive oil “Rocchi”. It is not allowed to use Martell cognac for the preparation of the dish. However, when it will be ready, each team has to select an appropriate Martell type that will match the flavor of the dish. All competition entries should be very unique, elegant and exquisite at the same time.
All competitors will receive a certificate of participation and small gifts. The team which will win the first place will receive a challenge cup, a nomination to the Culinary Cup of Poland and many other valuable prizes. The winning team has also the right to take part in the next edition of the competition without preliminaries.
Teams from many renowned restaurants competed against each other in the previous editions of the contest. Among the participants and winners of the competition were young, novice cooks from such hotels as: Le Meridien Bristol, Sheraton Warsaw Hotel, Hotel CROCUS Zakopane, Copernicus Kraków, Mamaison Le Regina, Hotel Park Olsztyn, Hotel Mariott, Hotel Zamek Baranów Sandomierski or Hilton Warsaw Hotel.
The competition, as well as beautifully displayed stands of the sponsors on the covered castle’s Courtyard, are usually visited by 800-1000 people. Owners of restaurants, managers and head chefs have an opportunity to gain great experience, take advantage of interesting presentations but also take part in free, specially designed for them trainings and seminars which are held during the Contest.
All interested teams are requested to send an application form via fax (089/642 70 13) or mail: d.strucinski@hotelanders.pl.
