COTECA Hamburg zyskała poparcie German Coffee Association (Stowarzyszenie Kawy Niemiec). Niemiecki oddział SCAE (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) zorganizuje podczas targów zawody Coffee Olympiad 2010. 

– Hamburg jest głównym centrum handlu kawą, herbatą i kakao w Europie – mówi Bernd Aufderheide, dyrektor Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) – COTECA Hamburg jako platforma międzynarodowego kontaktu osób z branży, ponownie podkreśla znaczenie tego miasta.

Targom będzie towarzyszyć konferencja „Markets in transition – challenges and opportunities for the coffee, tea and cocoa markets of tomorrow” podczas której eksperci z całego świata będą dyskutować na temat dalszego rozwoju tych trzech sektorów. Prezentacje i dyskusje panelowe odbędą się w dniach 4 i 5 czerwca. Kluczowym tematem konferencji dotyczącej wszystkich trzech działów branży będzie problem globalnego ocieplenia. Zorganizowane na targach COTECA Hamburg zawody Coffee Olympiad ściągną w jedno miejsce baristów i ekspertów kawowych z całych Niemiec. Będą oni konkurować w licznych dyscyplinach, w tym w konkursie: Latte Art, ‘Coffee and Good Spirits’, cup casting oraz Barista Championship. Zawodom będą towarzyszyć liczne seminaria i warsztaty.

Holger Preibisch z German Coffee Association, które udziela wsparcia targom COTECA Hamburg, podkreśla, że „rynek gorących napojów odnotowuje od wielu lat ciągły znaczący wzrost. Zorganizowanie targów poświęconych właśnie temu sektorowi to logiczny i naturalny krok”.

Jestem przekonany, że COTECA Hamburg okaże się pełnym sukcesem– mówi Albert Darboven, którego firma znajdzie się wśród wystawców – Ta branża potrzebuje własnej platformy prezentacji, aby zaprezentować wszystkie innowacje. COTECA Hamburg, International Trade Show for the Coffee, Tea & Cocoa Business

At the Hamburg Fair site from 4 to 6 June 2010

Hamburg From 4 to 6 June, Hamburg will be the international meeting point for coffee, tea and cocoa – COTECA Hamburg, the International Trade Show for the Coffee, Tea & Cocoa Business, will celebrate its premiere at the Hamburg Fair site. It is the first specialist fair in Europe to cover the complete value chain for all three sectors, from the raw commodity to the finished product. The range of exhibitors includes producers and traders, roasters, equipment manufacturers and service providers, and shop fitters for coffee shops. The international trade show addresses specialist visitors from the industry, the trade and coffee shops. COTECA Hamburg is supported by the German Coffee Association. The German Chapter of SCAE (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) is holding its Coffee Olympiad 2010 at COTECA.

“Hamburg is Europe’s main coffee, tea and cocoa handling centre,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC). “COTECA Hamburg as the international contact platform is underlining the importance of this venue again.” The three days of the trade show will be accompanied by a high-calibre conference on 4 and 5 June. “Markets in transition – challenges and opportunities for the coffee, tea and cocoa markets of tomorrow” is its title, with experts from all parts of the world discussing future developments in the three industries. The presentations and panel discussions on these two days will examine issues and questions which affect market participants along the whole of the value chain, from growing to retail. The scope for action will be analysed by leading speakers from Germany and abroad, presenting promising solutions for the future. The Coffee Olympiad at COTECA Hamburg will bring together baristas and coffee experts from the whole of Germany. They will compete in a number of disciplines, including a Latte Art contest, a ‘Coffee and Good Spirits’ competition and cup tasting, and a Barista Championship. The championships will be accompanied by an extensive supporting programme with numerous seminars and workshops.

Holger Preibisch of the German Coffee Association, which gives concept support to COTECA Hamburg, also mentions the commercial environment for the international trade show, noting that “the market for hot beverages has enjoyed high growth rates for many years. So a dedicated event is a natural and logical step.”

An upbeat mood is also reflected by Albert Darboven, whose company will be one of the exhibitors at COTECA Hamburg – “Hamburg is the coffee and tea capital. I am convinced that COTECA Hamburg will be a full success.” The industry, adds Albert Darboven, needs its own platform for presentation, to show all the innovations that are going on. Hamburg is exactly the right place for that, with its rich tradition as one of the world’s most major handling centres for coffee, tea and cocoa.
